01 · WHY CUSTOM

Fit is everything

A boil-and-bite from the chemist is bulky and loose, and a loose guard can make clenching worse. A guard moulded to your teeth is thinner, more comfortable, and actually stays put.

02 · THE RIGHT BUILD

Matched to your bite

Two builds, honestly priced: Soft for comfort-first light-to-moderate clenchers, and the clinical-grade Hard build — the same class of appliance a practice would fit for several hundred pounds — for heavy grinders and restored teeth. Your consultation prescribes the right one.

03 · REVIEWED, NOT RUBBER-STAMPED

A dentist sees your case

Before anything is fabricated, a GDC-registered dentist reviews your impressions and answers. If something needs a closer look, we tell you — rather than just shipping a tray.

Night Plate questions

What buyers ask.

Are custom night guards worth it over cheap ones?+
For regular grinders, yes. A custom guard is thinner, more comfortable, stays in place, and lasts longer — and the build is matched to your grinding force rather than guessed. Poorly fitting boil-and-bite guards are the most common reason people abandon night guards altogether.
Should I choose the Soft or Hard build?+
Hard (£199) is the build we recommend for most regular grinders — clinical-grade, most durable, and the right choice for anyone with crowns, veneers or extensive dental work. Soft (£119) suits lighter clenchers who prioritise comfort. Hard is the clinical-grade choice for heavy grinders and anyone with crowns, veneers or extensive dental work — it's the same class of appliance a practice would fit for several hundred pounds. If you're unsure, the free assessment recommends the right one.
Upper or lower teeth — which does it fit?+
Either — we make it for whichever arch suits your case, and the Pair option covers both or gives you a spare. The dentist reviewing your impressions confirms the right approach before fabrication.
How do the home impressions work?+
Your kit arrives with dental putty and trays plus simple instructions — the impression itself takes a few minutes. Post it back in the prepaid envelope, or skip the kit entirely by uploading an intraoral scan if you have one.
Will it stop me grinding?+
No appliance stops grinding itself — what a night guard does is take the force, protect your enamel and dental work, and typically ease the morning jaw ache and temple headaches. For the habit side, our Day Plate pairs with a habit-retraining programme, and heavier clenchers can explore muscle-level treatment through our clinics.
