    Standard hard guards — including good ones — are a single acrylic material, and under extreme grinding force they fatigue and fracture, usually at the thinnest point. The Ultra Plate uses a reinforced construction developed in our clinics specifically to withstand the forces that break standard plates. It is our strongest, longest-lasting build by a clear margin, and it exists for exactly your situation.
    Why does it cost £849?+
    Because of what goes into it: the reinforced construction, materials and fabrication time well beyond a standard plate, priority handling by our lab, and a case reviewed with particular care by our clinical team given the forces involved. If you've broken multiple plates, the honest maths often favours one Ultra over a cycle of replacements — but for typical grinders, our Hard build at £199 is the right choice, and we'll tell you so.
    How long will it last?+
    Longer than any other plate we make — it's engineered for durability first. Lifespan still depends on your grinding force, which in heavy bruxists is extraordinary, so we don't publish a fantasy number. What we do offer: if your Ultra Plate breaks under normal night-time use, we will remake it. Ask us for the current guarantee terms before you order.
    Should I get checked before spending this much?+
    Yes — and we insist on it. Plate-breaking bruxism is at the severe end and deserves proper clinical attention, including a conversation about muscle-level treatment. Every Ultra order is reviewed by a GDC-registered dentist, and we'll recommend an in-clinic assessment where appropriate.
